[...] A few months ago in my “pre-packaged Apple apps vs. Mozilla equivalents” round-up, I made mention of how Apple’s Mail (or the dreaded “Mail.app” if you prefer) application had mediocre signature support. My criticism went something like: Pain in the butt. Can’t reference external files and what’s worse, you can’t edit the HTML source of the sig. So those fancy inline CSS styles you wanted to use are pretty much out. (You can copy/paste them in but chances are you’ll lose half of what you wanted.) -1 [...]

[...] About three months ago, I decided to pit my Safari/Mail experience up against Firefox/Thunderbird and see where that took me. Since I spend so much time in a web browser and an email client each day, I want to optimize my workflow as much as possible. I wanted to find the “one client to rule them all”, I guess. The one that would come to the forefront. What I found in the experience surprised me. [...]

NOTE TO SELF: Firefox vs. Safari is probably more like WebKit vs. <del datetime="2005-12-22T19:06:33+00:00">...whatever rendering engine is behind Firefox. (Anyone know the answer to this?)</del> <ins datetime="2005-12-22T19:06:33+00:00">Gecko</ins>

As in: Currently checking out Shiira (http://hmdt-web.net/shiira/en/) as an alternative to Safari - - and first impressions are "Cool! But..." And the biggest drawbacks with Shiira all seem to stem from the shared WebKit and/or Cocoa heritage that it shares with Safari. (More to follow?)

[...] Quite a week! Seemed as though there was some major calendar event every one of the past seven days… “What’s next?” seemed to be the catch-phrase of the week. That said, much of it was pretty damn exhilirating for better and/or for worse. Had a “15 minutes” moment with my 7 Days publication - - pretty exciting - - plus the on-going Apple vs. Mozilla background noise debate. Poor Stoli spent the weekend at the vet’s though… Tough guy is some kind of sick… [...]

NOTE TO SELF: re: Thunderbird's IMAP Support - - sometimes seems to lose entire inboxes - - not the account (which still shows up fine) but the contents of that account disappear, forcing me to re-start to get it all back.
