I’ve heard of doing this before but never really got around to setting it up. This looks like a thorough redux and worth checking out. (Perhaps it’s time to try this again.)
I’ve been finding myself pleasantly suprised by Git. For some reason it feels smoother than svn, at least so far.
This might be due to some existing familiarity with scm, or it might be that the service I’m starting out with (github) is more user friendly than those I’ve used in the past (i.e. google code).
Might be worth a look if you are spending the time investigating a new tool anyway.
