¶ by Rob FrieselThis one was keeping me up the other night… What *is* the highest priority item on the human moral/ethical agenda? And how should this highest of priorities be executed?
Is the agenda the protection of human life? Or the protection of civilization? To assist each other? Or sustain? Produce? Or reproduce?
This assumes in the first place that we’re putting the evolutionary perspective. Assuming human beings are post-evolutionary and developing along a course that combines traditional genetic evolution and the compound affects of medicine and civilization (in and of itself).
And what about the mechanism? If the ultimate designed goal is to protect the civilization/society — is it protected by an paternalistic oligarchical system? Or do we learn to help ourselves first and help other as luxury affords?
