dream.20050905: math in social studies

by Rob Friesel

The classroom is my 5th grade classroom. But the subject matter is very 9-thru-12. I’m seated way in the back (and I know I got their late, too). Classroom tensions are high. School tensions are high. The guy seated next to me keeps trying to whisper to me about how far behind he is on his project about the socio-economic scenarios in certain South American countries. I try to tune him out but every time he inflects “Marxist” the teacher looks our way. I want him to keep quiet because I’m trying to covertly complete last night’s math homework. Snoop Dogg is seated up front and keeps giving me dirty looks. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the math homework. He’s very disappointed in me.

This is one of those dreams where I awake knowing there's a lot more to it. But I can't for the life of me remember but the handful of vaguely connected images.
