switchback.

by Rob Friesel

*le sigh* The great Blogger switchback. Don’t get me wrong … I have mad love for Blosxom in theory but all that Perl was just making my nauseous.

So F_D is back on Blogger. Grabbed a standard layout while I relearn the tags. (Was starting to get a headache from the toe-fungus yellow background anyway…) Made a few customizations to make sure we knew it was me.

Why back to Blogger? I couldn’t do all that Perl/CGI stuff that went along with Blosxom. I tried. But I hate Perl. My success rate with the plug-ins was pathetic and its built in features didn’t cover what I knew I could get out of Blogger’s basic package. I needed easy archiving and easy comments. And once I got the specs on how to SFTP the posts up to my new WSP, it looked like there was no need to stick with all that obnoxious Perl.

It’s good to be back.
