get oblique

don’t panic

It didn’t really sink in that this was even an option until… Well, I suppose just now.

For some reason it didn’t really seem feasible that anyone could do Adams’ novel justice on the screen. But apparently 85% of this screenplay is Adams’ work anyway, so I guess I’m feeling pretty good about it now.

Especially after watching the three trailers. Might I recommend this one?

Three observations based on the trailers:

  1. Nice solution to the Zaphaod two-head problem.
  2. That’s almost exactly how I would have done the Vogons.
  3. As Wired wrote in their most recent issue: The casting of Mos Def as Ford Prefect […] is either inspired or the biggest mistake since Freddie Prinze Jr. in “Scooby-Do”.
