Writing location: 100% The Chair

Navigating through a little bit of a weird narrative space right now. I feel like I’ve neglected my setting and new characters (to a certain extent) in favor of a dialogue-heavy period of plot advancement. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing. Also, I am beginning to realize how hard it can be to do “the slow reveal” that I have been planning for this third movement. Nevertheless, I still got my momentum:

Already, our return to Earth has been compromised. Was it that we could not get back fast enough? Or just that they were so far ahead? We’re armed well enough, we can still do damage to their swelling numbers on the surface below. It will be too late for many and possibly too late for us to make any appreciable difference. Who knew Gieger’s aliens could move so quick? Who knew they were even real? I help prep but otherwise stay out of the way. There are a lot of politics on board this ship and I want nothing to do with them. Those politics get closer and closer to the surface as we prepare to descend and contribute to the population’s defense. They all blame her but she is also our best crew member.
