Where to be in the coming Apocalypso…

by Rob Friesel

Via SustainLane: Ten U.S. Cities Best Prepared for an Oil Crisis – – a.k.a., “Where you want to be when the economy collapses.  Ranked on dimensions such as average commute times/distances, public transportation ridership, and (gasp!) wireless connectivity, the folks at SustainLane ranked the 50 largest U.S. cities according to how well they would survive a $100 tank of gas.  I guess I was a little surprised to see Baltimore rank in at number 9; I know a few folks that got by on the public transportation there but I always thought it was abysmal.  (Dude, those rail lines go in one direction with no branches; and they’re parallel.)  Interesting points raised, as well.
