#Westin on Enabling WebDAV on OS X

Greg Westin has a good redux on semi-securely enabling [tag]WebDAV[/tag] on an [tag]OS X[/tag] box. What’s good about the article is that it uses ’s “private server” publishing scenario as a use case and goes from there. He does a pretty good job of describing how to set up WebDAV in and then how to use digest authentication and directory restrictions (via <Location>) to secure it.

Just remember to make that davlocks directory…

    #safety first

Via MeFi: Sandstorming presents: 250 KM/h Crash Pictures!

so how did they remove the bodies without distrubring the placement of the motorcycle?

    With a hose.

I hate myself for this (and especially for admitting it) but: I laughed out loud. Not just at the above comment but at the pictures. Especially at the pictures. I couldn’t help but imagine the accident. And then I laughed again.

    So horrible.

    #USB Turntable!?

Via Gizmodo: Bios Magazine reports on ION’s unfortunately named “ITTUSB” turntable which apparently pumps the vinyl goodness direct to your Mac/PC over USB. While not priced as low as Griffin’s iMic, at $139 it might be a more than perfectly affordable solution for someone looking to rip down their tracks from vinyl. This will probably appeal more to older folks that want to archive old records or else non-DJ, non-audiophile types that haven’t already invested heavily in classics such as the Technics SL-1200 Mk II.
